Bhagavad Gita - PrinceMyshkin - 12-27-2012

Has anyone else here read the Bhagavad Gita? I'm a huge T.S. Eliot fan, so when I found out that the Four Quartets were heavily influenced by the Gita, I went out and bought a copy. The idea of work without attachment to results has become an important part of my personal philosophy.

Yes. What about it?

I've read select parts of it.

I used to have the one published by George Harrison, which had a really good concordance too. It had four-color art, pictures of Krishna and Arjuna and everything, it was amazing. I lost it somewhere in one of my many moves. Sad

The one I have now is just straight, black cover (just like a Bible), no explanations, no art. Bah.

Nobody did it like the Beatles, in oh so many ways. Cool

PS: I mentioned how I got that copy here... and by the way... I also just wrote about Martin Scorsese's documentary about George, which was pretty cool.

I join you in mourning the loss of such a glorious volume. George's involvement in the Hare Krishna movement has always been an interesting topic in Beatle-ology for me.

Before your blog post, I had not even heard of the Scorcese film, which shows how devoted a music fan I am....

I have nothing much to say about this other than it's time for something else to show up when I click "Forums" than "Buddhism, Anyone?"
